Ways to sign in to your Omxus account

You can sign in to Omxus in several ways. Pick what suits you, and add more than one so you always have a way back in.

Passkey

One press with your fingerprint, face or device PIN. Nothing to type, and nothing a fake site can steal.

Set up a passkey

Password

Your email address or mobile number, then a password of at least 8 characters.

Make a strong password

One-time code

We send a 6-digit code to your email or mobile. Good for accounts with no password, or when you forget it.

Sign in with a code

Name, date of birth and secret words

An optional way in that needs no email and no password. Your device makes your key from three things you remember.

How it works

Where to find each option

  1. On the site, select Sign in.
  2. Enter your email address or mobile number and select Next.
  3. To use something other than your password, select Try another way.

The Try another way list shows every option your account can use: Use your passkey, Get a verification code, Enter your password and Use your name, date of birth and words. If you forgot your password, select Forgot password? instead.

Which should I use?

Passkeys are the safest choice for most people. A passkey only works on the real site it was made for, so a look-alike site can't trick you into handing it over. Security guidance from the US National Institute of Standards and Technology describes this property as phishing resistance and recommends authenticators that have it (Grassi et al., 2017).

A password plus a verified email or mobile works well too, especially with a password you use nowhere else.
