If your account is turned off

If you see "This account is turned off. Contact the site for help.", your Omxus account has been turned off and can't sign in to any site.

Why an account gets turned off

We turn off an account to protect people, for example:

• after a report that the account is being used for abuse, fraud or spam,
• when an account looks like someone else has taken it over,
• when the law requires it.

Turning off an account signs it out everywhere. Nothing in it is deleted.

Get help

1. Contact the site you were signing in to. Sites often see the report or problem first.
2. If you think we turned off your account by mistake, send us a message with the email address or mobile number on your account. Explain what happened.

If we agree the account should come back, we turn it on again and you can sign in as before.

Is it Omxus or the site?

A site can also block your account on its own service without Omxus being involved. If you can sign in to other sites that use Omxus, your Omxus account is fine. Ask the site about its decision.
