Delete your Omxus account
You can delete your Omxus account at any time. Deleting is immediate and permanent.
Important
Once you delete your account, you can't sign in with it anywhere, and we can't bring it back. If you use Omxus to sign in to a site, make sure you have another way into that site first, or you may lose access to what you keep there.
Before you delete
- Ask for a copy of your data if you want one.
- Check each site you use: ask for a copy of your data there, or set up another way to sign in.
Delete your account
- On a site that uses Omxus, open your account settings and choose to delete your account.
- Confirm it's you with your password or a code, unless you signed in within the last 10 minutes.
- Confirm you want to delete.
If you can't sign in, send us a privacy request and we'll help.
What gets deleted
Straight away, we delete your email address or mobile number, usernames, password record, passkeys, sessions, security events, and everything else tied to your account. Every device and site signs out.
Our database provider keeps short-term recovery copies of the whole database to protect against accidents. Those copies age out on a rolling schedule, and we don't use them for anything else.
What doesn't get deleted
- What sites already have. A site keeps the details it received and everything you did there. Ask each site to delete your account with them.
- Your usernames become free. Someone else can choose them.
Starting again
You can create a new account with the same email address or mobile number later. It starts empty, and sites see it as a new account.
