What a site receives when you sign in

When you sign in, a site receives a small set of details about your account. Some details go to every site. Others go only to sites set up to ask for them.

Sites that use the Omxus sign-in page

Detail	When the site gets it
A private ID for this site	Always. Learn about private IDs.
Your username for this site	If the site asks for your profile.
Your email address, and whether you verified it	If the site asks for your email, and your account uses email.
Your mobile number, and whether you verified it	If the site asks for your phone number, and your account uses a mobile.
When and how you signed in, like with a passkey	Always, so the site can ask you to sign in again for sensitive actions.

Sites with the sign-in on their own page

These sites receive your account ID, your username for the site, whether your email or mobile is verified, a partly hidden version of your email or mobile (like t***@example.com), and whether you have a password or passkey.

Sites that moved to Omxus

If a site brought its existing accounts to Omxus, it also receives its own old ID for you and any role you had on it, like moderator. No other site receives these.

What Omxus never shares with a site

• Your password, or anything that could reveal it.
• Your passkeys, or your name, date of birth and secret words.
• Your account activity, or where else you're signed in.
• Which other sites you use.

After you share

Once a site has your details, its own privacy policy covers them. Signing out or deleting your Omxus account stops future sharing but doesn't delete what the site already has. Ask the site directly.
